OK, sorry - this is a cheap gag because I haven't had time to post anything meaningful in ages but... what the hell is this? Answers on a comment please.
I actually bought it (just so that I could photograph it) for 6 RMB but I can't imagine what it's actually supposed to do.
Knowing that it can 'jig' up to 10kg of 'tood' a total distance of 360mm really doesn't help...

What the...?

Good luck using that.
It looks like a rat trap to me but it would have to be one hell of a scary rat to reach the 10 Kg limit.
Will you bring me one of those please, next time you are home. I need to jig a few students at school, and didnt know where to get one from.
David Cameron (the latest Tory Party leader) had to re-jig his shadow cabinet, I don't doubt he used this. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/6262546.stm
Man that is one hell of a spam entry above mine!
This looks like a plate grabber to me. You know, picture a full plate of food - probably hot - and this spreads out over the top of the food and grabs the plate around the edges, making it easy to carry (or jig?) from point A to point B.
But don't quote me on this.
Indeed - it was both lengthy (it claimed 100000 characters) and fairly hate-filled spam and (no thanks to the Great Firewall) I've finally managed to delete it.
I could go for the plate-jigging theory except for the fact that I've just tried it with a plate and the wire was nearly chopping my fingers off just holding it up.
I'm not sure I could do that up to 10kg (but then again, unless you're serving the 'ingots of lead' course, it's hard to imagine service a plate of hot food that would reach the weight limit.
this could be the basis of a mildly diverting panel show along the lines of Call My Bluff...
