Hopefully even my lurkers will have a go at this one. I'll give you the answer tomorrow. Winner doesn't get some stinky tofu in the post.

is it another basket?

snake

your lurkers? is that a clue? is it a lurcher?

It's none of those.

That would be an unusually small lurcher!

For that matter it would have to be an unusually short snake for its girth for it not to be able to get through those bars.

rat? bird? small crocodile? some sort of prosthetic? a child? the royal scots dragoon guards? a rather large bowl of quaker porridge oats? fur coat? cuddly toy? the latest album from bonnie tyler? an aardvark; conveyor belt and doors? i'm i close? the 13 big brother contestants (yes it's BB7 started yesterday)? a wig; a london taxi? a new yor cab? the world cup trophy? jp? oh feck it I give up!!

I can narrow it down as far as 'a living thing that was too big to get through the bars'.

is it a lamb of the argali family?

I believe you normally see them on a stick outside pubs and clubs, not in a basket.

flag?

It's not a rat and, whilst I have seen a man selling hedghogs from a bag not far from this very boutique, it's not a hedgehog.

is that the same small basket that caused gridlock outside the Radisson?

a monkey?

Hey dude - double figures on your blog!

skunk

Skunk isn't as silly as it sounds - I did find this Recipe but, according to Wiki there are no skunks in China. Possibly because they've already been eaten.

No-one's right so far. I did go back later in the afternoon to try to get a good close-up, but unfortunately I only found an empty basket and a man sitting contentedly outside the shop.

so it's not a baby then

a baby skunk?

Well, it's not been a bad debate but the answer can be found here

To prevent the obvious ensuing debate it was obviously the animal, not the fictional character of the same name.

a piglet is a "a small usually young swine". so i must have been closest with baby skunk and therefore claim the prize of not having any stinky tofu sent through the post. you may however send it to the other contestants!
